Apple Macbook Air 2020 Introduction

The Apple 13" MacBook Air features Apple's first chip designed specifically for the Mac. The Apple M1 combines the CPU, GPU, Neural Engine, I/O and system on a chip (SoC). Tackle your projects with a fast 8-core processor and take graphics-intensive apps and games with a 7-core GPU Accelerate machine learning tasks with a 16-core neural engine MacBook with a quiet fanless design and up to 18 hours of battery life Air is still portable, but now much more powerful, it also has 8 GB of unified RAM and a 256 GB SSD.

With more than 4 million pixels, the 13.3" Retina display has a screen resolution of 2560 x 1600 and an aspect ratio of 16:10 for 227 pixels per inch (ppi). The display also offers up to 48 percent more colors than the previous generation. True Tone technology, white balance automatically adjusts to the color temperature of the ambient light for a more natural viewing experience.

Connect to the Internet via Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) and use compatible wireless peripherals and accessories with Bluetooth 5.0. The two Thunderbolt 3 ports provide USB4 support and can even be connected to the Apple Pro Display XDR at full 6K resolution. Apple has also included studio-quality microphones for clear recordings and calls. There's also Apple's latest camera ISP in the M1 chip, which allows for sharper images and more detail in shadows and highlights during video calls. Keep your data protected with Secure Enclave in the M1 and Touch ID. The backlit Magic Keyboard provides comfortable typing, and the Force Touch trackpad enables precise cursor control, pressure sensing capabilities, and Multi-Touch gestures. Please note that this MacBook Air can only output to one external display with a resolution of up to 6K @ 60Hz. This Mac comes with macOS pre-installed. Apple M1 chip

Featuring 16 billion transistors, the Apple M1 integrates the CPU, GPU, Neural Engine, I/O and more into a single system-on-a-chip (SoC). Built on 5nm process technology, the Apple M1 delivers the performance you need without sacrificing power efficiency. The Apple M1 contains four high-performance cores, each designed to run a single task, allowing for multi-threaded workloads. There are also four efficient cores to handle lighter workloads, using only a tenth of the power while still delivering fast performance. This means the Apple M1 works up to 3.5 times faster than the previous generation, while still providing up to 15 hours of wireless web browsing and up to 18 hours of video playback.

13.3" Retina IPS display

With four times the number of pixels than an HD display, the 13.3" Retina IPS display provides up to 48 percent more colors than the previous generation. This display has a resolution of 2560 x 1600 and an aspect ratio of 16:10 for 227 pixels per inch (ppi). Display glass extends to the edge of the screen, so the bezels are 50 percent thinner than before True Tone technology also automatically adjusts the white balance to match the color temperature of the ambient light.

True Tone technology

With True Tone technology, the display provides a more natural viewing experience for design and editing workflows, as well as everyday tasks like browsing the web and writing emails.

Touch ID

The advanced security and convenience of Touch ID is built into MacBook Air. Simply place your finger on the integrated Touch ID sensor and your MacBook Air will unlock. Use your fingerprint to instantly un-lock everything. You can also securely use Apple Pay to pay for online shopping. There is no need to enter shipping or billing information, and your card details are never shared.

Magic keyboard

The Magic Keyboard on this MacBook Air features a scissor mechanism that provides 1mm of key travel. There's also a physical “Esc” key as usual and an inverted "T" for the arrow keys. Combined with Touch ID, the Magic Keyboard provides comfortable and accurate typing.

Thunderbolt 3 with USB4 support

Thunderbolt 3 uses a reversible USB Type-C connector.
