The 12-inch MacBook may have first been released in 2016, but it's remained largely unchanged in the three years since its debut. Even if your computer hasn't seen the update yet, that doesn't mean you should ignore it if you're in the market for a new laptop. With a 1.3GHz Intel Core m7 processor, 8GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, the Macbook 12in m7 review 2022 still delivers fast performance and gives you plenty of storage space.
Introduction
of Macbook 12in m7
The
MacBook 12-inch m7 is one of Apple's most popular devices. Despite its three
generations, it has remained relatively stable. The 12-inch model with a 1.3
GHz Intel Core m7 processor provides high-speed performance. The device is
portable and comes in three colors: silver, space gray and gold. And yet it's
also been updated to include a Retina display - the same one used on Apple's
larger laptops like the 13" and 15" - and supports Touch ID for more
secure access to all your apps and files. Read our full MacBook Pro review to
decide if it's right for you!
The
MacBook has a reputation for great display quality, and the MacBook is no
different. An IPS (In-Plane Switching) display, included on the 12-inch
MacBook, produces vibrant colours from all viewing angles. It also boasts
Retina resolution, which means you can view images in their original sharpness
without any pixelation – almost as if you were actually looking at them. When
you place your laptop on a table or other flat surface, you won't see any
reflections thanks to the anti-reflective coating on the MacBook screen. Plus,
Apple ships every MacBook with a high-density screen that ensures your laptop
looks its best even as it ages.
Display
of Macbook 12in m7
The
display on a MacBook is one of its most prominent features. The display has
four different sizes: 11 inches, 13 inches, 15 inches, es, and 17 inches.
Apple’s MacBook Pro series has a glossy glass screen with a resolution of 1280
x 800, 1440 x 900, or 1680 x 1050 for 13-inch models and 1920 x 1200 for
15-inch models. In addition to being more durable than standard glass, Retina
displays deliver high contrast ratio for deeper blacks and brighter whites.
Apple’s ProMotion technology delivers a noticeable improvement in smoothness
when scrolling content compared to non-ProMotion-enabled screens. Retina
display is available only on macOS Sierra (10.12) or later versions of the
macOS operating system.
Build
quality of Macbook 12in m7
Macs
have always been thought of as solidly built and resistant to damage, even when
dropped. I’ve had a few experiences with Macs being dropped from an average
height of 2 meters (about 6.5 feet) onto solid tile floors and neither suffered
much more than cosmetic damage, such as cracked screens or broken buttons. The MacBook 12in m7 is
no exception. Despite it being fairly thin and light for a Mac, it feels sturdy
and heavy—the kind of weight that makes you feel like you could throw it off a
building without breaking anything internally! But you shouldn’t do that since
that would void your warranty, but at least you know if there is any accidental
damage, it will likely be covered by AppleCare+.
Battery
Life of Macbook 12in m7
There’s
nothing worse than getting to a meeting and finding your laptop has run out of
battery life. With up to 10 hours of battery life, you can work through your
day without worrying about running out of juice. Having said that, charging
still takes a long time; it’s possible to get through a full workday if you
make use of power outlets in between meetings and keep an eye on your laptop’s
charge level.
Keyboard
of Macbook 12in m7
The
keyboard is one of my favorite features on MacBooks. The keys are responsive,
offer a good amount of travel, and provide sufficient tactile feedback. Plus, I
love how quiet they are; there’s very little noise when I type or click a key,
even with hard strokes. Over time, however, some keys can become less
responsive. If you’re experiencing issues with your keyboard after several
months of use, try reseating it to ensure it’s properly connected to your
laptop. If you still experience problems after that, then a professional may be
needed to replace it for you if Apple won’t do so for free under warranty.
Processor
of Macbook 12in m7
The
MacBook Air boasts an Intel Core i5 processor, which is on par with many
desktops. This is one of its strongest selling points—it’s hard to find a
laptop that performs as it does for such a reasonable price. You also get 8GB
of RAM, which is twice as much as some other laptops in its class. If you want
something even more powerful, go for the higher-end MacBook Pro or Surface Book
2. However, keep in mind that that two cost around double what you pay for a
MacBook Air!
Memory
of Macbook 12in m7
MacBook
memory is soldered to its motherboard, which means upgrading isn’t an option.
With only 8GB of RAM at its disposal, it’s one of Apple’s lowest-end machines.
It comes with 128GB of flash storage—which is limiting for many users. MacBook
memory can be upgraded, but only by purchasing additional memory from
third-party providers or replacing components on your own (likely voiding your
warranty). If you need a machine that can run multiple apps at once and hold a
significant amount of information for long periods of time, look elsewhere. The
MacBook 12in m7 falls short in both categories and doesn’t have any other
noteworthy features to speak of.
Accessibility
of Macbook 12in m7
The
new MacBook was designed for accessibility and portability. It weighs only 2
pounds, making it extremely easy to carry around or pack in a bag. The battery
life of 10 hours allows you to use it wherever you go without having to worry
about recharging. Also, a single charge gets rid of many hours’ worth of
re-boot time, which makes sure that you are always connected. If you are not
satisfied with its performance, there is no need to worry because Apple
provides a one-year limited warranty on all MacBooks and free technical support
through phone or chat seven days a week.
Graphics
and Video Support of Macbook 12in m7
The
MacBook Pro is capable of running games and high-definition video smoothly,
making it a good option for creative professionals who want to take advantage
of apps such as Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premier. It’s also great for those that
want to edit photos, videos, and audio on the go. While it lacks an SD card
slot and Ethernet port, you can add wireless adapters and USB-C ports easily. And with its high speed—up to
3.1 GHz—and amazing battery life—up to 9 hours on a single charge (for both),
there’s no question why many IT professionals are choosing MacBook Pros as
their go-to machine on business trips.
Software
features of Macbook 12in m7
As
with all Mac computers, you’ll find software features to be a plus. The MacBook
Air doesn’t come with any pre-installed software, but you can buy and download
some apps from Apple. That way, you’ll have fun new programs for work and play.
You may also want to try a virtual assistant like Siri (available on your Mac
or iOS device) or Alexa (for Amazon devices). They can help you perform daily
tasks more quickly than other methods. If you get lost along the way, there are
many how-to sites that offer step-by-step instructions. Finally, it’s important
to keep your system updated so that your information is always secure and
protected against malware attacks.
Comparison
to other laptops of Macbook 12in m7
Apple’s
MacBook is a popular option for people looking for a light, portable laptop.
Unfortunately, its price doesn’t always make it an affordable choice; most
versions cost more than $1,000. But there are other laptops out there that give
Apple devices a run for their money. For instance, Acer’s Chromebook R13 has
similar features to Apple’s device (and is cheaper), but weighs 1 pound more
and can only last up to 7 hours on one charge. You could also opt for Lenovo’s
Yoga 900 Laptop or Dell’s XPS 13 Touchscreen Laptop as lightweight alternatives
with long battery life—but both weigh 2 pounds more than Apple’s product and
lack backlit keyboards.
